Better Life Natural Pet Foods, 315 Telshor Blvd., is hosting a Halloween Costume Contest and Parade on Wednesday, October 31st for local pets in Las Cruces and Dona Ana County. Proceeds from entry fees will go to help animals in the community.

The contest and parade will begin at 5 p.m. at the Telshor store with a BBQ and pet trick or treating. There is a $5 entry fee which goes to the Cat’s Meow, a local cat adoption and rescue organization. The winner of the contest will win up to a year of FREE pet food.

Pets and their owners will participate in the Trick-or-Treat Light parade, which will travel around the area. Final judging of entries will be at 6:30 p.m. First prize winner gets one year of FREE Earthborn Premium pet food. Second prize wins six months of FREE Fromm premium pet food and third prize gets a $75 shopping spree at Better Life along with a $75 Caliche’s gift card.

The Cat’s Meow is located at 2211 N. Mesquite Street. They are Las Cruces’ first permanent, feline-only adoption center.
