Chain off 2009 Peaceful Demonstration

Chain Off evolved from one woman chaining herself to a doghouse in 2004 for 33 hours, to 85 people chaining themselves in 23 states during last year’s 2008 Chain Off Campaign to raise awareness for chained and penned dogs.

This Chain Off 2009 will include Las Cruces,  with the area representative, Michel Meunier, chaining herself to a dog house.  Participants are welcome to join her in this demonstration, Sunday, July 12th from 10am to 6pm, you may join the demonstration for the entire event or during any part of the day.  It is at Apodaca Park in Las Cruces, NM.

Dog Park Grand Opening!

The City of Las Cruces opened its first official dog park in May 2009. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and dogs may run off-leash. For more information about the park and to view a slideshow of the grand opening, click here.
