HOME 4 THE HOLIDAYS
NOW TIL JANUARY 2ND
ACTion Programs for Animals (APA) continues its Blue Buffalo Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption drive from now thru Jan 2nd. During this special adoption campaign, the adoption fees for animals are reduced to $35. As an added bonus to this campaign, APA is also going to offer a Black Friday Special from Nov. 28th thru 30th of fee-waived adoptions for any of our mostly black animals. APA has some wonderful dogs and cats available for this special.
The APA Furrever Home Adoption and Education Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day to give volunteers some time off, but it will re-open Black Friday, Nov 28th, from 4 to 8 p.m., then will be open Sat., Nov. 29th, from 12 to 5 p.m., and the group will also be inside PetSmart (by Old Navy) on Sunday, Nov. 30th, from 10 to 3 p.m.
The APA adoption center is normally open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. During the Christmas holiday, the center will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but APA encourages pets to be adopted as gifts and is offering FREE delivery of adopted pets on these days. Many puppies, dogs, kittens and cats will be available next month for adoption. People can also purchase gift certificates at any time to give to someone they know who has been wanting to adopt a dog or cat.
During the month of December, on Saturdays, APA will be offering a cocoa, coffee, and bake sale as well as visits by Santa Claus (or Mrs. Claus when he cannot be there). APA encourages the pubic to visit and play with the animals, take the dogs out for a walk at the park across the street, etc.
“With as many as 7.6 million homeless pets in the U.S., it is important everyone get involved to help save an orphaned animal this holiday season,” said Michel Meunier, APA’s director. “We’re proud to be a part of this amazing campaign and are dedicated to placing orphaned pets in homes so they can experience a happy new life.” Since January of this year, the group has saved nearly 700 animals (of that number, 400+ cat/kittens) -- most of which were rescued from the municipal shelter and the DAC Sheriff Animal Cruelty Taskforce.
To learn more and get involved, contact APA at our information line at 575-644-0505; visit or call the adoption center at 800 W. Picacho, 575-571-4654; and visit us online at www.actionprogramsforanimals.org and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/APALasCruces. Please also donate in person, by mail or online. The group needs the community's support to maintain and increase their rescue numbers in 2015.
