Horse N Hound is hosting a Dog Days event on Saturday, September 24 from 9 a.m. until noon at 991 W. Amador Ave. The event will provide a fun morning out for canines and their humans. The event is free to the public.
Dogs can sample the barn hunt trials and participate in contests. Nail clipping will be done by NMSU Aggie Paws for $5. There will be samples of locally-made Bow Wow Blends smoothies for pups to sample.
Kids of all ages can enjoy the K-9 demonstrations by the U.S. Border Patrol and talk to Mesilla Valley Search and Rescue. Striking the Wonder Dog will be available for handshakes. The event encourages responsible pet ownership and patrons can pick up information about local dog-related services and the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Obedience Test.
People and pets can participate in the contests. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the doggie look-a-like contest, the family relay runs at 10:30, and dogs can show off their best tricks at 11:30.
