APA-Home-4-Holidays-Flyer-2018ACTion Programs for Animals offers half-off adoptions beginning Oct. 28

“A Home for the Holidays” promotion runs through Jan. 2

Las Cruces, New Mexico – If you’re looking to add a dog or cat to your family, now is the time! ACTion Programs for Animals is offering half-off adoptions as part of its “A Home for the Holidays” promotion from Oct. 28 to Jan. 2. Animals may be adopted for just $25 during that time, which is half-off APA’s normal adoption fee.

“We love the holiday season, because it’s when many people have time off and family at home, and many adopt animals during this time of year, too,” APA Executive Director Michel Meunier said. “There is no greater gift than giving a homeless animal a furrever home, and we have plenty of cats, dogs and kittens to choose from.”

Come meet some of APA’s adoptable dogs at its PITS for Peace event Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event is at the Downtown Plaza, and all proceeds benefit APA in its animal rescue efforts.

The APA adoption and education center is located at 800 W. Picacho Ave. and is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and by appointment.

About ACTion Programs for Animals

APA is a progressive animal welfare organization seeking to improve the quality of life for companion animals in Dona Ana County and greatly reduce the number of unwanted animals impounded and euthanized at the municipal shelter. Since May 2012, more than 3,500 animals have been rescued. The majority of these have been dogs and cats/kittens pulled from our municipal shelter. They are able to do this through volunteer work of rescue/foster coordinators, foster families, weekend adoptions, and donations.  For more information about APA, email mail@apalascruces.org, call 575-644-0505 or visit www.actionprogramsforanimals.org.
